Why people work with us

Advice that respects
your circumstances

01

We start with the numbers you actually have

No template plans. We look at your income, debt, obligations and goals as they stand today, then build from there. Every recommendation is tied to a figure you can check.

02

Independent thinking, plainly explained

We're not here to push a product. We explain the trade-offs in ordinary language, tell you what we'd do in your position, and leave the decision with you.

03

A relationship, not a once-off report

Circumstances change — a new job, a growing business, a market shift. We review your plan on a regular rhythm so it keeps pace with your life.

Who we help

Built around the people
we actually serve

Portrait representing a salaried professional client

01 · Salaried professionals

You earn well but want your money to be doing more — a clear savings rhythm, sensible tax planning and a retirement path you understand.

Owner-run business team discussing finances

02 · Owner-run businesses

You wear every hat. We bring order to the money side — drawings, provisional tax, cash flow and separating personal from business finances.

Family planning their financial future together

03 · Families planning ahead

School fees, a bond, an emergency buffer and one day retirement. We help you balance the pull of today against the needs of tomorrow.

Portrait representing a client nearing retirement

04 · People nearing retirement

You're within sight of stopping work and the decisions get heavier. We map what you have, what you'll need and how to draw it down sensibly.

About the practice

Ferreira & Voss,
in our own words

Ferreira & Voss began with a simple conviction: that most people don't need a slick sales pitch, they need someone honest to sit down with them and explain the choices in front of them. That's still how we work.

We are a small, deliberately hands-on practice. When you call, you speak to the person handling your plan — not a call centre. We take on fewer clients than a larger firm would so that each one gets real attention and a review that actually happens.

Our advice is grounded in the South African reality: our tax rules, our markets, our exchange controls and the cost pressures on ordinary households. We keep it precise, we keep it plain, and we keep our word.

"Good financial advice isn't clever — it's clear. If you can't explain it at a kitchen table, it isn't finished." Danie Ferreira, Founding Partner

Common questions

What people ask
before their first meeting

The first meeting is a no-obligation conversation to understand your situation and see whether we're the right fit. We'll agree any fees clearly in writing before we do further work.

No. We give independent advice and are paid for our guidance, not for steering you toward a particular product. Where a product is involved, we disclose any commission fully.

Not at all. Much of our work is with salaried professionals and owner-run businesses building things up over time. The value of good advice doesn't depend on the size of your portfolio.

Yes. We meet in person at our Quigney office by appointment, and we run video and phone consultations for clients across the Eastern Cape and beyond.

For most clients we schedule a formal review at least once a year, and sooner if something material changes — a new job, a sale, a big purchase or a shift in the markets.

Cash-flow and budgeting, tax planning, investment strategy, retirement planning, and financial structuring for small business owners. If something falls outside our scope, we'll tell you and point you to the right specialist.

We handle your information in line with POPIA and keep records secure. We only collect what we need to advise you properly, and we never sell your data.

Why clients stay
with us for years

Longevity is the honest measure of a financial adviser. Plenty of firms can win you over once; the test is whether you'd still trust them a decade later. Most of our work comes from clients who came back, and from the people they sent our way.

We keep our practice small on purpose, we return calls, and we say what we think even when it isn't what you were hoping to hear. That's the whole offer — and it's why people stay.

Let's start with a proper conversation

Book a no-obligation consultation and we'll walk through where you are and what a sensible next step looks like. No pressure, no jargon.
